Walter Lee Davis, Jr., who holds a TN CPA Certificate and a TN Real Estate Broker License, has been a Tennessee lawyer since 1967.  He is Certified as an Estate Planning Specialist by the Tennessee Supreme Court's Commission on Continuing Legal Education and Specialization. 

Lee earned the Accredited Estate Planner designation from the National Association of Estate Planners and Councils (NAEPC) and the Estate Planning Law Specialist designation from the Estate Law Specialist Board, Inc., the ABA approved organization to certify estate planning law specialists in approximately 17 different states, including Tennessee.  Lee  has been selected for the sixth consecutive year in the 2011 Mid-South Super Lawyers listing in the area of Estate Planning.  

Lee earned a Real Estate Salesman license in 1962, while in college, and worked in sales for a developer in Memphis.  After graduation, cum laude from Memphis State University with a BBA in Accounting and Real Estate in 1964, and a JD from Vanderbilt University School of Law in 1967, he worked for Arthur Andersen & Co. as a senior tax accountant until early 1972.  He then served as Secretary and General Counsel of a publicly-held resort community developer, Carolina Caribbean Corporation, until he opened his own law office in mid1974 to serve the needs of his own clients.

Mr. Davis’ civic activities have included the Johnson City Rotary Club, Johnson City Regional Planning Commission, Sequoyah Council Boy Scout Board, Tipton-Haynes Historic Association Board, Mountain States Foundation Board and the ETSU Foundation Board.   He served the Tennessee Bar Association in numerous capacities, including Chair of three different sections, East Tennessee Vice President, and as a member of the House of Delegates and the Board of Directors. In addition to serving as president of the Tri-Cities (TN-VA) Estate Planning Council he also, in 2008, served as National President of NAEPC leading its 225 councils with over 26,000 estate planning professionals.  He has also made numerous presentations on tax and real estate matters. Lee lives in Johnson City with his wife, Carla. They have 3 adult children and 3 grandchildren.
