U.S. Department of Justice Files Charges Against Tennessee Healthcare Professionals

The U.S. Department of Justice recently charged eight healthcare professionals in the Eastern District of Tennessee with involvement in the illegal prescribing and distributing of opioids and other dangerous narcotics. The individuals included five doctors, a nurse practitioner, a physician’s assistant, and an office manager.

A total of 60 defendants across 11 federal districts, including Tennessee, were charged as part of the “National Appalachian Regional Prescription Opioid Strike Force.”
