An attorney practicing with the health care law group at Hunter, Smith & Davis, Sydney focuses her practice on the defense of suits filed against hospitals, physicians and long-term health care facilities. Because of her research and writing skills, Sydney is responsible for the preparation of many of the firm’s appellate court filings. The Appalachian Highland native graduated from the University of Virginia’s College at Wise and the University of Tennessee’s College of Law. She began her legal career as a law clerk for a Tennessee Court of Criminal Appeals Judge. While in law school, she was a law clerk for a Virginia Supreme Court Justice and worked in the U.S. Attorneys Office. Sydney is active with Tennessee Defense Lawyers Association Young Lawyers as a Co-Chair for the Tri-Cities Region. She was also recognized by Super Lawyers in 2024 as a Mid-South Rising Star.
